Realtor Rebecca Peterson
Fifteen years fly by when you’re having fun, at least that’s what team member and realtor Rebecca Peterson tells us. Heading into her 16th year at the Berg Larsen Group, Becky emphasizes that there’s nowhere else she’d rather be and nothing else she’d rather be doing than helping home buyers and sellers.
It’s no surprise that Becky was drawn toward real estate. Her mom is a real estate agent and growing up, they were neighbors with Barry Berg. Fun fact: Becky attended the Edina schools with Barry’s children from grades 7-12.
After completing undergrad at Northwestern University and graduating from the University of St. Thomas School of Law, Becky started her career as a real estate analyst for Target Corporation. Shortly thereafter, she was looking to support her family while maintaining a flexible work-life balance.
Becky explains, “I called Barry and said that I wanted to go into residential real estate, but the only way I’d do it was on his team.”
When Becky joined the Berg Larsen Group, she was newly married and child-free. Now, her oldest daughter recently turned 13, with a 10-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son following close behind. Their family also includes some furry friends: their adorable dog and four beloved celebrity guinea pigs.
When Becky is not working with clients, she can be found hanging out with her family, working on her photography, listening to over 100 audiobooks each year, and managing the Instagram account of her guinea pig-fluencers. Her two guinea pigs, Abe and Ted, have over 6,000 Instagram followers and have been featured in Edina magazine and on Channel 5.
Early in her career with the Berg Larsen Group, Becky primarily worked with younger, first-time buyers. Her work today spans many price points and neighborhoods. Whether a client is buying or selling a $100K or $1M home, she stays with her clients through all of their life stages.
“I love referrals - whether it’s friends of friends or relatives of clients, I never turn down a referral from a past client,” says Becky.
Over the years, past clients have regularly circled back to find their next home now that their children are school-age and they need more space - or perhaps their parents are moving to town and want a condo to be near the grandchildren. From Stillwater and Delano to the Minneapolis lakes and western suburbs, it’s hard to find an area that she hasn’t touched.
Although her law license is no longer active, Becky’s law degree and knowledge continue to distinguish her work and allow her to operate with greater independence because she’s comfortable with contracts and negotiations.
When Becky is asked why she has continued to work with the Berg Larsen Group all these years, she says, “I work with amazing people and have the support of the best Realtors in the business. Working with an incredible team, growing with clients, and having an alternative to the typical 9-5 makes all the difference.”
