This Buttermilk Coffee Cake recipe goes to show that Kate’s expertise isn’t just in real estate, she’s also known for her hospitality. Who wouldn’t want to have a cup of coffee, some of this delicious cake, and a wonderful conversation?

Preheat oven to 325℉ | Grease two 8” glass pie pans
❖ 2-¼ cups all-purpose flour
❖ 1 cup packed brown sugar
❖ ¾ cup granulated sugar
❖ 1 tsp salt
❖ 1 tbsp butter
❖ ¾ cup canola oil
❖ 1 egg (room temperature)
❖ 2 tsp baking soda
❖ 1 cup buttermilk
❖ In a large bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and salt - until it resembles sand
❖ Add butter and canola oil
❖ Mix well - set aside ¾ cup of this for the topping
❖ Add egg, baking soda, and buttermilk to the remaining mixture
❖ Divide batter between two pie pans
❖ Evenly sprinkle the reserved topping over both pans
❖ Bake for 25-30 mins - do not overbake
❖ Cool and enjoy!
