Between mornings at farmers markets, long days on lakes, and more time to spend with family and friends, it’s no wonder that Minnesotans love their summers. And, as Realtors, we always enjoy the summer market too.

Saying So Long to that Sweet Summer Market

There’s no doubt that properties look particularly stunning with greenery and gardens in bloom.

June and July showing activity was seasonally steady, and August always reflects a predictable and slight slowdown as potential buyers engage in a wide range of summer activities. That’s why, as the State Fair and Labor Day approach, our attention shifts toward the fall market.

“We sense buyers are eager to return to their home searches and homeowners are preparing to put their homes on the market come September,” says Chad.

Is there still time?

Fall is the time of year where we receive calls from people asking, “Is there still time to move this year?”

And to that we say: Fall is a great time to list your home, find a new one, or to start getting prepared.

Sellers - Set the Stage for Success

“Soon, beautiful autumn colors and cozy ambiance will invite you in,” says Chad.

“Fall is a time for refocusing and starting to move towards your goals,” adds Barry. “Beginning those home projects to prepare for the market, starting conversations with your real estate team, thinking more in-depth about the timeline for your next move.”

If you’re looking to list your home this fall or in the upcoming year, starting the conversation now allows for peace of mind during the holiday season.

Buyers - Prepare to Find Your New Home

For buyers, fall presents an opportunity to reflect on where you’d like to be in the coming year. The right home found in fall sets the stage for a new chapter. And, there’s plenty of things that you can be doing right now.

“Consider talking with mortgage lenders and financial advisors so you’re prepared when you see your next home,” says Chad.

“We also recommend building out your wish-list and connecting with your Realtor so they’re able to keep you in mind when new properties pop up,” says Barry.

Whether you're ready to make a move this fall or simply preparing for what's ahead, now is the time to start the conversation with Barry and Chad.
