We couldn’t be more excited to assist clients in selling their homes. And, we love to help clients move into their dream homes. Typically, both of these moments are filled with excitement, anticipation and, well, a little bit of chaos. The bustle to gather all the required paperwork, do all the packing, and tie up all the loose ends involved in getting moved can leave both buyers and sellers a little overwhelmed.

As our team has grown we work hard to simplify and expedite the process. We have an incredible office staff of licensed realtors who are well versed in the paperwork, procedures, and timeline of a sale. Together we all work diligently to get you moving into or out of a property smoothly. However, recently we experienced something we…

NOW! Why? Mortgage rates are incredibly low, 3.81%. In fact, it’s the lowest they’ve been in years. Recently, Bankrate posted an article, “No Siesta for Mortgage Refinance Fiesta”, stating that the 30-year mortgage are the lowest they’ve been in over 52 weeks. And, with rates being this low, now is a great time to buy or refinance, locking in on a low interest rate.

The Barry Berg Group has a team of knowledgeable realtors that know the market, neighborhoods and work closely with you to match your home with your lifestyle.  We help you find the home you’re looking for and the experienced office staff to facilitate and expedite the paperwork. But, what we can also offer is access to loan officers with great experience, profound knowledge and up to…

Much like in the summer, when condensation beads up on an ice cold refreshment, windows will fog, steam or freeze solid in the winter due to moisture in the air. Warm air with water particles come in contact with a cold surface and the invisible water particles condense on to the glass. This can occur a few different ways. You can get moisture on the interior of the home, inside of the window, or on the storm window, which typically freezes and becomes a wild frozen piece of art. It may look neat, but you can’t see out the windows and that’s no fun.

Some homes have it good. In the winter, once they’re shut in and the furnace runs, the interior air dries and condensation stops. Homes that don’t have it so sound have a constant battle. If condensation…

It’s here already, New Year’s Eve! Can you believe it?! It feels like only yesterday we were celebrating “Y2K” and 1999, by Prince, was being played everywhere. The computers never crashed as we transitioned into 2000…and, in just a few short hours the calendar will forever change to 2015. Yes, 2015!!

The previous 15 years have brought about a lot of change in the United States. The economy and housing market took a hit in 2008, but we’re tough and resilient and we have climbed back with deeper awareness. 2014 was a great year for the Barry Berg Group and we’d like to share a few of our top memories:

  1. “We scheduled a photo shoot on the closing night of the Minneapolis Aquatennial to capture the fireworks from the perspective of our Phoenix…

Just a month ago it was cold, VERY cold for mid-November. But, duty calls and we were determined to get out there and show luxury homes to our clients. After all, for over 30 years we have been matching homes with lifestyles no matter the weather.

Last November, we sold 42 Park Lane, on Cedar Lake in Minneapolis, by representing the buyer, we were the “selling agent”. What’s that? Why would a buyer want representation?

  • We have over 30 years of experience in real estate, we’re the professionals.  A part of our service is to offer our knowledge and expertise to our clients, the buyer in this case, on any deficiencies and/or defects in the property, as well as providing a thorough market analysis.
  • We’re on the buyers’ side. We’re the advocate…

Today, December 16th, marks the first day of Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights. This holiday is celebrated by the kindling of a candle, one for each of the eight days of the holiday. Once the candle is lit, it is placed in one of the nine-branched menorah, from left-to-right, commemorating the miracle of one jar of oil providing light for eight days soon after the Maccabees recaptured the Holy Temple, in Jerusalem, from the Greeks in the 2nd Century BC.

Along with lighting the menorah, celebrations include:

  • Music: a large number of traditional songs, such as “Ocho Kanelikas” (“Eight Little Candles”), "Hanukkiah Li Yesh" ("I Have a Hanukkah Menorah"), "S'vivon Sov Sov Sov" ("Dreidel, Spin and Spin") and many more.
  • Foods: a…

It’s #ThrowBackThursday and what a perfect opportunity to look at how the Barry Berg Group became what it is today. We’re quickly approaching 2015, but in 1987 Barry was already leading the pack for real estate sales success. A native of Montevideo, Minnesota, undergraduate of Princeton University who then graduated with his master’s in business administration from the Harvard Business School, Barry pursued his calling in residential real estate.

Although others thought he’d be a better fit in various career paths, due to his Ivy League degrees, he knew in his heart, “I’d rather be selling real estate than doing something that just looks good on paper”. That passion and drive has paid off! For over 27 years he’s been Minnesota’s number one selling…
